To me, being a teacher means serving the community. It means believing. It means having the audacity to create positive impacts on students, families and faculty. It means constantly learning and growing with my students every day. And it means caring deeply for the welbeing of students.

As an elementary school teacher I am (ideally) a solid step on the staircase that is a child's educational journey. Teaching these small kiddos, at times, feels like hearding cats... but there are moments each day where I smile and laugh with my students, and where I feel the joy and curiosity that drives our learning.

Being a part of a student's joy and growth at school is really all I want. Hopefully I will not emulate this gif after my first full year of teaching.
