Narrative writing essay over the course of 4 weeks for two DPS writing cycle rotations. I think an assessment for this could be children checking one another. In one of the Lexia programs the students are learning how to correct that someone reads such as SC over a term that is self corrected. An assessment can be a short exit ticket asking students what they will fix. Then the next day recieve the exit ticket back as reference for what they should fix in their writing. My students are at a headstart school where on Fridays they recieve a bag of food to take home. Many students speak Spanish even if online according to the school only 5 students qualify as bilingual. They are impoving on their writing but I just need to make sure students have the time they need. I use Tenor Gifs in my teaching to help with little illustrations for students who need it.
