My biggest takeaway from building the unit is that it is very important to consider the cognitive demands of the unit you are planning so students are appropriately challenged.

I've made a connection between cognitive demands and language forms because I developed my language scaffolds in a way that related to a challenging level of cognitive demand to get students talking and thinking more deeply about their writing.

Something I will think about the next time I plan a unit is what specific lessons I want to incorporate.

I would tell people next semester to start thinking about their unit ahead of time and how they can implement it in their site classroom.
