The unit I will be teaching for my capstone is indigeneity and indigenous ways of knowing. Essentially, students will be learning about different indigenous beliefs and lenses to view the world. The unit goal is to have students use an indigenous lens to interpret/solve a current issue. The theme of the class is to open ourselves up to understanding different perspectives. Our big idea is people around the world have different ways of interpreting the world. Thus, our essential questions are:

How do our upbringings and cultures shape how we view the world?

How do our worldviews influence how we problem solve?

These are broad questions that do not exactly have an answer, so they are questions that students can delve into throughout their lives.
